May 18 POD UPDATE

UPDATE:

Potential ER-2 mission this evening (planned take off at 19/0200 UTC) has been scrubbed/canceled in order to give COSMIR engineers time to debug, repair, and test COSMIR system and integrate back onto ER-2.  So, no ER2 mission today/tonight.

We will still meet at 1500 CDT at Fairfield Inn lobby to discuss updated forecast for Wednesday - Friday and update our plans for the week.  Most important topic will be whether we want to consider running a Citation only mission this evening over Oklahoma between 00 and 06 UTC.

There is now a chance for isolated, severe convection this evening.   The UND Citation will standby now for a takeoff as early as 23Z, 1800 local.   UND, thanks for that!  Mission Scientists and forecasters will be in place at SGP by 5 PM local.  Will update UND shortly after that.  Will look for work anvil precipitation over or near CF.
