Morning Forecast, Friday June 3

No big changes to yesterday's forecast. The upper ridge continues to dominate and influence the weather over Oklahoma. Surface conditions will remain hot and humid under southerly flow, but low-mid levels will stay dry. A few cirrus clouds this morning, mostly over western OK today. Some upper cirrus as well on Saturday, but late summer like conditions persisting through at least mid-week. No forecasted rain in the near future.

Forecast for Day 0: 

An upper trough over the pacific northwest with an upper ridge over the southern states. Mostly clear skies over OK, with cirrus over western portions of the state. Hot and dry conditions throughout the day. South-southwest  winds breezy at times. A frontal boundary exists from SE colorado through Nebraska where some showers are possible in the daytime, but without any upper level systems moving through, no chance to see anything move near our region.

Forecast for Day 1: 

Ridging  conditions persist. Should continue to see upper cirrus clouds through the day from possible storms over eastern new mexico. Otherwise hot and dry

Forecast for Day 2: 

Sunday the ridge shifts westward, and builds in stronger over our region. Very dry air throughout leading to clear skies.

Extended Outlook: 

The ridge is expected to dominate through mid-week. The GFS shows a few shortwaves trying to move through the ridge, but doesn't look to break down any time soon, and the model still not putting any precip near the SGP region in the next week.
