The RTMM worked well on this flight with no problems. I started working with LASE to get some images into the RTMM and possibly on the ground as well. John is working on the automation aspects using filename conventions we worked out during the flight.

The RTMM functioned well. During the flight I was able to complete the debug of the on-board dropsonde kml processing and so dropsonde plots and pngs showed in the RTMM as soon as the data was made available by the dropsonde team. I was also able to bring ATD lightning information up with John Hall’s help.

The RTMM worked well on the plane. I ran a much simplified version with only the products I was bringing to the plane listed. Much less confusing. I also integrated the real-time flight track from the GTR Mini-mac so only one kml is needed on the plane.
During the flight I worked on establishng onboard processing of the dropsonde data into the RTMM. 90% complete but still need to debug the skew-t integration.

The RTMM worked very well on the flight today. Falsecolor MSG IR was brought up every 15 minutes without incident. Working with John Hall on the ground we were also able to bring up an enhanced color Vis product as well as waypoint and dropsonde plots. These last two were implemented in a test file only so as not to disturb operations.

The RTMM worked well on the DC-8. The mission scientist, Ed Zipser, asked for Meteosat false color IR and working in coordination with John Hall on the ground we were able to satisfy his request. By focusing on only one or two products we were able to get Meteosat updates approximately every 15 minutes which was very helpful during the flight. For future flights coordination with the Mission Scientists on which products are most important for that flight will help streamline the process and make the RTMM more useful on-board.
At this point in time the APR-2 and Dropsonde crews are also making use of the RTMM during flights and other instruments have expressed interest in using it as well.
