Tropical--Humberto has again been upgraded now to a cat 1 hurricane with 85 kt winds. The current positionis 33.2N 67W with a central pressure of 983 mb. Most of the deep convection occured in the northern semicircle. An eye is not visible through satellite imagery, but was seen on aircraft radar. It is moving to the NNE at 9 kt and is expected to continue in this direction while increasing forward speed as the trough gets closer. I think we have seen its peak intensity, now it is entering cooler waters and increasing shear due to the strong westerlies. Elsewhere, some convection flaired in the Gulf today.
JAX--mostly cloudy with afternoon thunder showers. High of 84. Winds out of the NE at 5-10 kt.
EYW--mostly to partly clear with easterly winds of 5-10 kt. High of 87.
