Morning Forecast, Thursday June 2

 

An upper level ridge over the southern plains will dominate the weather today through the weekend. Cirrus clouds will continue to stream overhead today, which will be the main feature as Oklahoma remains hot and fairly dry. Southerly low level winds will continue. Expect Friday to be mostly clear and sunny, while Saturday may see a few more upper level clouds again. The ridge will continue to persist over the central US Sunday into Monday.

Forecast for Day 0: 

The upper ridge has built in over the southern plains, with surface high pressure over lake michigan and surface low over eastern Montana. Cirrus clouds will continue to stream over head today. The lower levels will remain fairly dry, although hot and humid at the surface. Brisk southerly winds over western OK as well.

Forecast for Day 1: 

Conditions will remain hot and dry as the ridge continues to build in, similar forecast to today, although more likely to be clear.

Day 2:

Forecast for Day 2: 

Again, similar conditions will persist as the upper ridge remains. A few more upper cirrus during the day.

Extended Outlook: 

The upper ridge will continue to persist, even building in stronger Sunday and Monday over the central US. A few daytime showers over northern/eastern Texas may be possibly with a easterly wave, but northern OK will remain hot and dry. Likely persisting through at least mid-week next.
