Pre-Campaign Forecast, Friday April 15

Getting the back side of the low pressure system this morning, with some light wrap-around rain in north-central OK, and strong NW winds. The low clouds will persist through the afternoon before clearing out this weekend as the region returns to a more zonal flow aloft. The next upper-level system is forecasted to move in from the West Tuesday with moisture return ahead on Monday.

Forecast for Day 0: 

The strong surface low pressure system has moved into eastern KS, bringing our area very strong NW winds behind the cold front. Some very light wrap-around precip (.01-.02") will clip north-central into north-eastern OK through early afternoon. The low-level clouds will remain through this evening, before lifting out late.

Forecast for Day 1: 

Saturday will remain mostly sunny and clear, with WNW flow aloft, and surface winds decreasing and turning more southerly sat evening.

Day 2:

Forecast for Day 2: 

The upper-level zonal pattern will continue Sunday, with some cirrus likely.

Extended Outlook: 

Moisture returning to the state Monday ahead of the next storm system moving in from the West. Tuesday an upper-level trough is projected to dig in along with a surface front. A similar pattern from yesterday's storm outbreak is setting up for Tuesday (although still 4 days out).
